Novelty 2026: Diesel locomotive KM 4000 in the version of D&RGW 4001 in modified form. The original SP KM 4000 locomotives started their life as almost identical triplets. Over the years, however, they were altered and became clearly distinguishable from one another. The authentic PIKO reproductions depict the locomotives as they appeared in the mid-1960s, taking into account structural and color-specific details. These include side air intake grilles, filter boxes, and roof vents, as well as exposed exhaust systems with flap valves. The locomotive also accurately reproduces the color details of the SP 9100. The powerful motor, combined with perfectly balanced flywheels, ensures smooth operation. The various lighting functions are implemented using state-of-the-art LED technology and can be easily digitally controlled with a suitable decoder. The sound versions are factory-equipped with a sound decoder and matching speaker. The locomotives do not feature a NEM coupler pocket.
