Such cars are used in steel plants for the transport of slag, but also for liquid crude iron. Their massive and heavy construction is a clue to the use of these cars. In most cases these cars are grimy from their special use. Such cars as a rule are used only within the steel plan. They are not seen on the tracks of the state railroads.
